The Mission Statement of Champions

Champions are purposeful people, having both vision and mission statement

Champions are purposeful people. They do not just live a kind of ‘I-wish-to-be-like’ life. They set out life goals and follow it up. This begins with a mission statement.

A mission statement is a written code of short or long term goals of an organization or individual, which when religiously followed up with relevant resource inputs, becomes the end-term achievement of such organization or individual. Every champion begins his life with a mission statement, which runs through the following stages:

Stage 1:Dream
This is an ambition, an aspiration, a dream of what one wants to achieve, or where one wants to be at a particular period of life, or for a lifetime or what positive changes one would want to see being effected in his world. It’s a figuring out of an ideal life- how one thinks life could be. Meanwhile, every man can have a dream, even the mediocre.

Stage 2: Desire
Having figured out that ideal world of his fulfillment, the champion begins to desire to accomplish it. He had dreamt that the poor children of the world can be taken care of; that there could be medical breakthrough in providing total healing for patients with life-threatening diseases etc. Now he desires to see that dream becomes a reality. He has to be involved.

Stage 3: Decision
This is where action starts. No more day-dreaming! Here the champion sets out to take that step that would help him realize those set goals. It is at this stage for the first time, many around him would notice there is a champion in the making, and guess what! Oppositions, storms, trials, stumbling and every other negative phenomenon would come staring at his face. At this point, the lily-livered and the spineless gives up, but the champion continues.

Stage 4: Determination
Faced with many oppositions, which sometimes, might succeed in pulling him down and causing delays, the champion still rises on his feet, gathers the pieces of his life and moves on. That is the champion’s spirit at work.

The Holy Bible captures it this way:
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed: (2 Corinthians 4:8-9).

Stage 5: Discipline
Having overcome the temporal storm to move on, the champion reviews on why and how he got it wrong, being ready to make necessary corrections and adjustment. Here, he disciplines himself, having possibly realized that his inability to discipline himself might had let to the troubles he went through.

Stage 6: Diligence
No more dull moment; he has learnt his lesson, and is now ready fast-track his actions towards his goals. He had already lost so much time, and must need meet up with his target, hence the need to be more diligent. This time around, he is so tough-minded and dogged, ready to crush any other opposition on his way.

Stage 7: Devotion
This has to do with focus. It is time to narrow your mind and being to that singular goal of your life that defines the future you want to have. The champion at this time, does not tolerate distraction any longer. His motto now is; FOCUS- Follow One Course Until Success.

Stage 8: Destiny
At last, the champion is born! What started as a dream is now a reality. That breakthrough invention has been made; those manuscripts are now on print; that relief foundation for the poor is now a reality! That is how every champion consummates his dream- the crown of championship…

You don't get to the top if you don't plan to get there.!
